How PIPR Became a SAAS for Builders

PIPR has been establishing systems for builders since 2002, developing a wide range of eBusiness projects for property clients. However, after a few years of operation, CEO and Founder of PIPR, Rich Evans soon came to realise that there was a need to evolve.

Here is how PIPR became a SAAS for Builders… (SAAS: “Software as a service”)

The Problem:

PIPR’s approach of custom building systems from the ground up was no longer a long-term, sustainable business model. Why? You may ask.

Well, only so many builders could afford to spend 200 – 250k on a bespoke solution to their business problems. Not to mention, the cost of ownership in maintenance and ongoing development.

As early as 2006, CEO and Founder, Rich Evans had the idea of a centralised system, similar to SAAS. Builders would be able to streamline activities, increase productivity and enhance customer relationships. However, a lack of resources meant this concept was unable to come to fruition.

The Turning Point:

I sat with one of my business associates over dinner in Queensland one night in 2016 and we were chatting around all the changes that my business had been through. We had built over 500 websites, many of them large-scale integrated web-based business systems, but I was seeing the industry change. All the SAAS systems on the market, the different platforms available for building websites, CRM systems like Salesforce and HubSpot were leading the charge in a way I couldn’t keep up with.

This was a major turning point for the business; with over $7.5 billion in property, the thought occurred – “what if we receive a small fee each time the system was successful”. No expensive capital costs for the customer, simply a small success fee, which would benefit both customer and business alike. Would this work? Well, it was time to find out.

The SAAS Builders Solution:

The establishment of PIPR began in 2017, a SAAS for builders system which encompassed two decades worth of knowledge and a development roadmap to the ultimate goal of what was to be a global property market place for the sale of new housing and land stock.

We secured our first client who would be our beta tester, Nash Housing, and we launched our first properties on a PIPR Based portal in August of 2017. Although our new SAAS for builders model worked, we needed to find more builders. Not just large volume builders, also small-to-medium builders which had the same headaches as their larger colleagues, but dealt with them around the dining table at home, not in the boardroom.

This was PIPR’s focus in 2019, as the company built a marketing platform and brochure creator, improved the interface of the product and refined the user experience.

2020 was supposed to be PIPR’s year, however, as we all know – COVID-19 happened. So, we find ourselves ready for 2021 with a SAAS system everyone sorely needs, two decades worth of experience, and a professional team ready to disrupt the entire new housing and land market.
